Academic Coaching
​
Academic Coaching is a personalized style of tutoring that helps a student advance their skills and performance. I use the student’s own school work to teach them effective study habits, boost their executive functioning, and help them advance their strengths while improving areas in which they struggle. Using their own school work makes the coaching time meaningful to the student and helps them immediately use the skills they are learning. Executive functions that improve with coaching include time management, goal setting, planning, organization, focus, impulse control, and self-monitoring.
Individualizing Curriculum

More and more people are choosing home school over public school, but many are unsure if they are choosing the right curriculum or teaching in an effective manner. That's where I come in. I can help you choose, create, and monitor a curriculum that is individualized to your child's needs. I can also coach you on how to effectively work with your child so you both feel successful.

Special Education Advocacy
Navigating your way through ARD meetings and IEPs can be a very confusing and difficult venture. I can help you through the process, explain test results, attend meetings with you, and advocate for your child's needs. I feel it is very important for parents to truly understand what is happening in their child's education, so I offer a 30 minute consultation at no cost to you.
Behavior Intervention Plans

We all have struggles with our children and some are more difficult than others. These struggles are often intensified when our children are at home with us all day. I can create plans to improve your child's behavior, help things run smoother at home, and improve their success at school. I will teach your family how to implement these plans and guide you and the school through the process.
Enrichment Curriculum
​
Sometimes we feel our children are not being challenged to their full potential or are bored with what they are learning and need more. If you are feeling this way, I can help. I can work one-on-one with your child to challenge them and increase their knowledge. I can also create units or a full curriculum specialized to their interests to challenge and interest them whether they are learning in school or at home.
